Healing... It's a walk in the park!
We all know that a relaxing walk in nature is good for reducing stress but do we consciously do it? Oftentimes we have too much chatter going on in our minds, and that chatter talks us out of doing things that
are both simple, beneficial and free! How lucky are we to live in Glasgow where we have some of the most beautiful parks in the world.
Walking in nature has been scientifically proven to reduce stress, reduce blood pressure, muscle tension and the production of stress hormones. Almost as good as a massage! And if you don't believe it... just try it and see.
Try a ten minute walk every day, leave your mobile at home, listen to the music of the birds instead of your mp3 player. Walk mindfully. Be aware of your breathing and be present in the moment. After a few minutes you will feel the relaxing benefit, and continue daily for effective healing.
The famous naturist John Muir said, "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks".
And don't let the thought of rain put you off! Take a hat.
